Reveal: holmestice
Title: Blue Carbuncle
Author: valderys
Recipient: annella
Pairing: Sherlock/Lestrade
Rating: PG
Word Count: 3,073
Notes: Written for Holmestice, and is a BBC's Sherlock reworking of ACD's The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle. (Oh, and there's a typo in there which is bugging me because I can't fix it, so do please ignore it if you can!)
Summary: “How do you know I even want a present?” Sherlock asked, “I hate pandering to the forces of Mammon and Mithras alike. Christmas is an overrated occasion, not least because everything stops for a minimum of two days, and often much longer - the whole affair has always been dull when it isn’t excruciating.”

You really shouldn't have said that, because it meant I started counting the typos...

Fortunately this only added a veneer of Sherlockian smugness to my underlying Lestradian appreciation of that thing you do with your keyboard. Especially Sherlock being a cat under the duvet, and Lestrade's careful manoeuvring around him.

Sorry! I didn't mean to mess with your head! It's just there are two in particular that are niggling at me to the extent I may ask the mods to sort them some time when they're feeling recovered... There may be others, mind, but these two got pointed out in the comments and I can't fix them! It would drive Sherlock insane too, I suspect, unless they are completely beneath his notice because they're not part of a case :)

Anyway, thank you for Lestrade's magnanimity, or at least his long-sufferingness!

Oh, I noticed four (one of which happened twice) on a casual readthrough. I do it on autopilot.

But thank you for a very nice S/L story!
