Peep Show!
Oh my goodness! There have been several things I should have commented on over the last weeks, the brilliant Merlin finale, the slightly disappointing Voyage of the Dawn Treader, but really the thing I want to wibble about most is Peep Show!

I watched this weeks episode last night and aww. It had the horribly excruciatingly embarrassing moment of Mark trying to pee in the soup, but it also had David Mitchell in an extremely short pink t-shirt waving a duster, and his lovely naked freckly back, AND Mark-as-hero riding in to save Jez from the monster of English literary criticism. He even got Dobby and sexual confidence as a reward. My heart, it just completely overflowed... Talk about fan service!

All three episodes in this series have ended well for Mark! It's becoming quite frightening. What are you plotting, Armstrong and Bain? (The most recent episode was so good.)

I'm a bit worried about this too. OTOH, maybe they figure that since he's unemployed, he gets to be happy in his personal life?

I think they're reversing the usual Peep Show trope with Jez in work and having women troubles there, and Mark isn't, but his relationships go fine. It too makes me worry that there is going to a hugely bad thing at the end of the series. Poor Mark. But I did stand in the middle of my living room and cheer during the book group scene!

It just... felt a bit flat. It didn't help that Eustace acted both Lucy and Edmund off the screen. But the dialogue all felt tired, and the extra plot stuff didn't quite work... They repeated themselves a lot too. The White Queen should not have come to tempt Edmund three times, for example - it lost any impact one good temptation should have had.

Edmund and Caspian were reasonably slashy though, on the good side... :)

three times?! oh man, it has more impact when it's just the once.

i am atually pleased about will p. being amazing as eustace because he is a brilliant actor but EDMUND. skandar is usually so BRILLIANT.

I know! I love Skander! And he's not *bad*, it's just not quite as good as the other movies...

SQUEE! (Spoilers: Merlin S3 finale)
Sorry to hear that Treader was so-so ('Treading water'? ahaha). It is my favourite of all the books, so I would have liked to see it done justice. (The bit where Lucy reads the book with the open door behind her is, to my mind, more genuinely scary than some whole horror movies.)

I loved the Merlin finale, too, even if I am still rather disappointed that Morgana went over to the Dark Side so thoroughly and enthusiastically. The Table! Arthur's Paladin speech! Big Damn Hero Gaius!

Re: SQUEE! (Spoilers: Merlin S3 finale)
My favourite is the next one, which probably won't get made now, I expect. I love The Silver Chair and would have liked to see who they got to play Jill Pole.

And I completely agree about the Merlin finale - although if I have a quibble it's that they tried to fit too much into the time they had, so couldn't entirely do anything justice - poor Lancelot for example, he was barely in it. And Percival!

Not to mention Mark and Jeremy discussing the use of sex toys, and then later, Mark offering his services for hire while Jeremy was in bed with him leading to a discussion of who is and isn't a prostitute. Where is the fic, people??

Also, it totally works as fan service for RPF, too, not just for the show. Because the rehearsals with the dildo must have been hysterical.

Yes! YES! The cuddling in bed, and with Jeremy it's all about the bum! It was a brilliant episode! I reckon that even in canon Jez is at the very least bisexual - remember the rock star? :)

Oh absolutely. And Mark is a bit as well -- I was just rewatching an ep where Jeremy asked him if he was gay again or something like that, and Mark is all "that was ONE time!"
