Election - boo...
Well, the overall result is as I mostly thought it would be, so I'm going to concentrate on local matters. Which are pants. Dr Evan Harris in Oxford West (Lib Dem, lovely science advocate) lost to a tory, dammit, by less than 200 votes. And my constituency, Oxford East, stayed Labour, which isn't so bad, but I don't like the incumbent, Andrew Smith, at all. And it could have gone Lib Dem and didn't. So - boo.

On the other hand, filming at the alternative election night last night was good fun. It was much less spontaneous than I'm used to, but that was obviously because it was live. It was a very well oiled machine, which was a pleasure to see. Charlie Brooker is charmingly hot in person, like a good-looking bulldog, and David Mitchell in full on suit... Ahem. He was also ridiculously nervous, imo, because of the live thing, I assume. Jimmy Carr was a deeply professional, very lovely man, who shook our hands at the end when we thanked him for a good show. And my 15 minutes of fame can count down another 30 seconds or so, because fairyd123 got asked a question and everything! And I got to smile sympathetically and pat her shoulder :)

I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. There wasn't much interaction with the audience and I was worried you'd be disappointed - he looked so incredibly nervous bless him. Came away very impressed with Jimmy Carr - his sense of humour is still not my cup of tea but he was a really nice bloke.

Still at least you got to appreciate David's trim self from different angles.

Today have been met with various choruses of "You were on the telly!" and "bloody hell another red in the office" which was most amusing!

And yes I thought of you when I read about Evan Harris - very disappointing news that.

And now we have a coalition! I think that might come round to biting Nick Clegg on the arse eventually - isn't he going to lose grass roots support? Even with the promise of a referendum? And having talked with various peeps, I'm a bit disappointed the referendum will be on AV and not AV+, which sounds much better. Dammit. Still not happy with the result.

But David is well worth staring at, even though he's tons better when he's bantering, than on autocue... :)

I think the result is a bit of a travesty. Had a conference today and everyone was sort of find the nearest window ledge depressed at the prospect of a Tory government. I think Clegg will lose a lot of support over this - its a big mistake for him.

I thought David was great when bantering but looked horribly uncomfortable initially but then it was a huge live show for him.
