Being Human
Oh, in poking about, I found these prequel clips on Digital Spy. Oh god. Am I biased, or is Mitchell bloody terrible? I had a feeling that it might be the case, but he's just some dumb guy. And he has a squarer jaw than most cowboys. Now I know that's my bias showing, but in my opinion a vampire should be about cheekbones, not square jaws. And maybe I'll get used to the Irish accent. Maybe.

My problem with Being Human is that it would have been much more interesting if they'd cast against type for once, and made the chubby guy who played the werewolf into the vampire, made the dark-haired guy into the powerless ghost who couldn't leave the flat instead of the cliched vampire, and had the woman who played the ghost as the werewolf.

Yeah, it might have been fun if they'd made Guy Flanagan the ghost, and Andrea Risborough the werewolf, but I do like Russell Tovey as the werewolf, chubby cute werewolves are still a bit of a turnaround from the norm, after all. And the powerless ghost does get to leave the flat, at least in the pilot - she discovers her power, I suppose.

I'm only grumpy because I liked the pilot so much. I thought Guy Flanagan made a perfect vampire, my personal version of the cliche perhaps :)
