Wedding - it is done!
Not mine, I hasten to add! I have been a helper out at my dear friend kissifa's wedding. I have mostly been in charge of Dress. There was the buying, and then the shortening of said dress - incorporating train (I left some original length at the back) and criss-cross ribbon detailing. There was the buying of the under-corset and the wonderbra, and the extra lengthening of the back of the wonderbra, there was... Well, you get the picture. And she looked wonderful, I was very proud :) My finest moment came when her mother-in-law turned to me and said, 'the dress looks fabulous, I wonder who helped her pick that out?' and I could say, me!

I am quite tired now, we had the hen night on Friday and the wedding on Saturday. There was karaoke for the hen, which included dancing on tables, and a cheesy rock disco for the wedding, and now my foot mysteriously hurts. But it was gorgeous, it really was - a great time was had by all!

It sounds like you did a great job on her outfit! You might well be proud: it sounds like a great - if tiring - weekend, and you were part of making it work.

It's been a wonderful summer weekend for a wedding - though I hope it wasn't *too* hot!

Yay! It was a great couple of days but exhausting. On the other hand, kissifa and elcampo seemed to get the day that they really wanted, which is the main thing! It actually wasn't too hot, we could have done with it a few degrees cooler, maybe, but the dining room/disco room had aircon, so it was fine!

It was! And no stressful bits beyond the usual - so no family being dreadful, for example. The closest to that was kissifa's sister being a terrible show-off, and nearly falling out of her dress, but that mostly just made people laugh :)

Sounds fantastic. Good to know that your Leet Tailoring Skills received their due meed of praise, too.

I am shattered too, having returned from a conference in Australia on Saturday morning. Leaving Sydney Airport on a Boeing 777 had an additional frisson, given my taste in TV, but we did not crash on an island full of pretty broken people, which is probably just as well.

Everyone said very nice things, and I got to ride in the stretch limo there and back again, which was a bit like a little reward, but was more because I had no time after getting kissifa in the dress to worry about how I was going to get there myself! There was a space though, so it was ok!

I hope the conference was good and productive - it's a hell of a long way for a conference though! You can really tell Down the Road has more money to splash out that we have :) I'm so glad you didn't end up crash-landed - you weren't in the tail section were you? That would have been *really* worrying :)

Yay! A slightly mad sister is a small price to pay, and sort of expected at weddings :) I do like weddings - everyone there to celebrate and wish the couple well, it's lovely!
