Mitchell and Webb!
For those peeps on my flist for whom the sarcastic tones of Mr Mitchell sends the heart fluttering, this is for you!

The Cheltenham Literary Festival is hosting a Q&A with Mitchell and Webb - they've written a book, I believe - and there will be a signing afterward. Or, at least, that's what happened last year with RTD and his book, which is how I know about this in the first place!

It's on Sunday 11th October at 4.00pm. Details are here - I'll be buying my ticket on Monday morning, anyone else want to join me?

Cheltenham is the opposite direction from me, so I wouldn't call it *local* - although compared to Glasgow, I suppose it's fair enough! :)

Ok, one ticket is yours!

Me, please! Have you seen David's Who Do You Think You Are, yet? (And can I be very cheeky and ask, as you'd probably be going by our front door, if you'd pick me up?)

Ooh, where in Oxford are you? (I assume you mean Oxford? :)

And yes, I have seen it, and I found it adorable, and also to see his mum and dad, Ian and Kathy, made me squee, because as Subject Librarian for Hospitality at Brookes I've worked with both of them, although more with Ian, until he retired.

I'm in Witney. The old A40, which is how we got to Cheltenham last October, for John, Carole and Rusty, is just by our house.

No probs! I assume you'll travel up to me, and I'll drive us? Although, to be fair, the trains to Cheltenham may be fine, I haven't checked!

Trains to Cheltenham horrid, I've just checked. So this seems the best idea - how far is it to Cheltenham from you?
Valderys: David Mitchellvalderys on August 10th, 2009 02:58 pm (UTC)
It's about an hour from me here, if that helps. I've got the tickets - yay!

Hmmm... I *was* looking for an excuse to go to the UK.
Valderys: David Mitchellvalderys on August 8th, 2009 11:34 am (UTC)
Cor. It's a long way to come for 75 mins! I feel guilty for encouraging you! :)
Dafnadafnagreer on August 8th, 2009 02:59 pm (UTC)
Yes, you're right. Sigh. But it was fun to ponder the possibility for about 10 minutes.
